Can you believe that 1970 is 45 years ago?! We can't either. Remember the hair styles of the 70s, the outfits, the TV shows, the music acts... They don't make 'em like that any more!
In the 1970s all telephones were rotary: no buttons! You would stand at the table in the hall an twiddle the curled wire as you chatted to your friends about the latest school gossip, while your parents looked on, complaining at the cost of the call!
The most popular movies of the 1970s were The Godfather, Star Wars, Jaws, Grease and Superman. It's hard to believe, but the Rocky Horror Picture Show was a complete flop when it was first released in 1975, but a few years later people realised the error of their ways, and it was a roaring success.
Of course, aside from all this, the 1970s provided us with some truly fabulous music, from the Carpenters to Stevie Wonder, the Jackson 5 and the Temptations. Or if you're more into your rock music, there was Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Alice Cooper. And of course, you can't mention 1970s music without thinking of Abba, the Bee Gees and Boney M!
