RED NOSE DAY - 13th MARCH
Make your face funny for money!

Who doesn't know about Red Nose Day? Comic Relief has been going since 1985 - which makes it 30 massive years old this year. Founded by Richard Curtis and Lenny Henry in response to the famine in Ethiopia, it's well known for putting on a great night of cracking entertainment, while simultaneously raising buckets of cash and awareness for charities near and far.

Comic Relief has a very strong tradition of doing completely ridiculous things to raise cash. Taking a bath in baked beans, sponsored silences, walking backwards all day - these are some of the ridiculous ways we've raised money for Comic Relief over the years. The show is always a night of fantastic entertainment, often after a day of entertaining each other by dressing up, acting silly and generally making fools of ourselves. This is exactly our kind of fund raising, and we love it!

Comic Relief operates on the "Golden Pound Principle" whereby every single pound donated is spent on charitable projects - not pointless admin or bureaucracy. All of their operating costs, advertising etc are covered by their corporate sponsors. To date, they have raised £950 million for charitable works all over the globe - and encouraged millions of us to make ourselves look daft in the name of charity, whilst having lots of fun in the process!
