The Six Nations is an international rugby union competition between six sides, hence the name! The six nations taking part are England, France, Ireland, Scotland, Italy and Wales. It's a brilliant opportunity to watch fast-paced and exciting rugby matches between sports men at the very top of their game... and, of course, to paint our faces with our country's flag!
Whether you grew up during the decade, or weren't even a twinkle in your father's eye by 1980, everyone loves the 1970s, don't they? Chopper bikes, space hoppers, flares, awful patterns on polyester shirts with ridiculously large collars ... what's not to love! Of course, we all love to poke fun at the fashions and styles of the 1970s, but give us half a chance and we'll all be there with our afro wigs and platform shoes
Everyone knows that February 14th is Valentine's Day, the day when we send an anonymous card to the object of our affection. Valentine's Day has become a massive thing these days, with restaurants and florists expecting to be fully booked, and boxes of chocolates selling like hot cakes. Of course, if you're single Valentine's Day can seem like it's not much fun - but there is still plenty of opportunity to join in with festivities and celebrate friendships and loved ones instead.
This year Easter is early, with pancake day falling on February 9th. Chinese New Year falls on Monday February 8th this year, with celebrations beginnign the day before, and lasting until the Lantern Procession on the 15th day. MCM Comic Conventions are the UK's number 1 popular culture shows - and we can see why. Every event they organise is packed with star guests, dealer stalls, cosplay and all manner of entertainment. Comic Con Midlands, held in Telford on February 13th, is no exception. Look out for '80s timelord Sylvester McCoy, who has been announced as a special guest at this year's event.
This February 24th the Brits will return to the O2 with all the glitz and glam we've come to expect - as well as amazing performances, and of course some awards! The brilliant thing about the Brits is that the venue allows the general public to attend in the stalls, above where celebrities sit at their tables. Excitingly, Adele has been confirmed as a performer at this year's ceremony. Who could forget her amazing, spine-tingling performance of Someone Like You in 2011? Here's hoping there'll be another cracking performance this year!
