The Hulk is a fictional superhero created by Stan Lee from the Marvel Comic Universe, debuting in the comic...The Incredible Hulk in 1962.

The Hulk, a giant muscle bound raging humanoid monster is the alter ego of Dr. Bruce Banner...a shy and withdrawn physicist whom is exposed to gamma fallout from a test explosion of the gamma bomb he invented. Stan Lee took his inspiration for The Hulk from a combination of Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde and Frankenstein, Banner transforms, when angry, though involuntarily with his famous words “you wouldn’t like me when I’m angry” to a huge uncompromising living engine of destruction known as the Hulk.

From then on Bruce Banner would be continually hunted by the military led by General Ross and continued making other enemies within the military. For a period Dr. Banner treated his condition with radiation therapy which enabled him to keep part of his personality when in the form of the Hulk and able to control and humanize the green monster and using his strength to help mankind and thus gaining a favorable reputation within the US government subsequently receiving a presidential pardon.

The Hulk first and foremost is known as a fictional character appearing in comic books...but has appeared in on screen adaptions, both small screen and big and its small screen appearance that most of us remember him for played by Bill Bixby as Dr Bruce Banner and two time Mr Universe winner Lou Ferrigno as the doctors alter ego the Incredible Hulk...transforming from the small and scrawny doctor in times of stress to the  6 foot 4 hugely muscular and powerful beast with bright green skin, wearing his trademark torn purple denims and dusty black wig only returning back to the doctors normal form after taking care of what troubled him before his transformation...with only the doctor suffering from amnesia in a pair of tattered purple denims as the only evidence of what had happened!

A major part of the The Hulks popularity is that everyone can relate to him (though many mistakenly believe he resembles the green eyed monster within them) with at some point in their life to unleashing their rage, weather at queue jumpers, road rage etc we have all lost it at some point or we have at least wanted to unleash the rage within us... though not to the extent the Hulk does, but wouldn’t it be great though, just once...just once to hurl that annoying salesmen or base booming boy racer to the moon!
