We love the fact that so many different events embrace the spirit of Christmas! This is one of our favourites. It’s definitely true that your bog-standard, 6-kilometre race becomes infinitely more fun when all the people taking part are dressed as santa! Just imagine the sight of 2,000 santas running around Battersea Park. Sounds fun, doesn’t it? Imagine being one of those 2,000 santas!
This race is organised to raise funds for Disability Snowsport UK which is a national charity raising funds to allow people with all types of disability to to access and enjoy snow sports. If everybody taking part in the run raises just £25 in sponsorship, the charity will receive a whopping £50,000 in funding. That’s an awful lot of people with disabilities who will be able to access a sport they would otherwise have been excluded from. What a Christmas present! Even better, if you raise over £250 there’s a goody bag - and there’s a prize for the person who raises the most money.
This event sold out last year, and we can definitely see why. What a fantastic start to the festive season, running a race to raise funds for a great charity, dressed as santa! Fantastic! There’s even a Santa medal for everyone who crosses the finish line.
