Ahh, Christmas. Roast turkey, Christmas pudding, too much to eat, endless discarded wrapping paper and ribbons. It comes at the same time every year, but most of us are still running around like mad things the week beforehand, desperately trying to organise ourselves and no doubt do a bit of last-minute shopping!
Will Father Christmas bring you a present this year, or will it be a lump of coal? Will you hear the reindeer scuffing about on the roof as he sneaks down your chimney? Will he bring his elves, or come alone? Don’t forget to leave out a mince pie for him… and a carrot for the reindeer!
We love Christmas because there are so many different opportunities for fancy dress: Father Christmas, an elf, an angel, a snowman, a shepherd in the school nativity (you’ll need one of Mum’s old tea towels on your head for that one!). Perhaps this year an elf or a fairy. Or why not throw caution to the wind, and dress up as a Gruffalo? Who says you have to be something traditional?!
PS. if you have children, don’t forget to buy batteries. You always need batteries on Christmas morning!
