Whilst there are many generic fancy dress costumes available for an 80′s theme, there are also an equal amount of more unique costumes on the Fancy Dress Ball website that may not represent the first thing that comes to mind when one thinks of 80′s fancy dress.
Dressing up as your favourite 80′s cartoon character is a very unique idea that not many people tend to think of. With Madonna and Michael Jackson clouding their creativity, the option for dressing up as Dangermouse or He-Man doesn’t tend to cross peoples’ minds.
As the host of an 1980′s fancy dress party, you could even theme the event so that everyone turns up as their favourite character from an 80′s TV programme. Not only will this afford guests with a wide range of fancy dress options, but it makes the party more accessible to people that were perhaps young children in the eighties, rather than guests who were adults at this time.
Available on the Fancy Dress Ball website are cartoon character fancy dress costumes in a wide range of sizes and designs. You may find yourself dressing up as Count Duckula, or even Batfink from the parody of Batman and The Green Hornet.
With those Bananas in Pyjamas, Mario Brothers and even Jess the Cat from the Postman Pat series as options, guests will be simply spoilt for choice. Having a party of this theme is also guaranteed to bring about some nostalgia, and offers the party host the chance to add extra authenticity by playing famous 80′s TV shows at the party!

Every stand up comedian and talk radio presenter knows that one way to get an audience on your side is to tap into the fondness everyone has for cartoon characters. This usually comes about as the first exposure to them is as a child. Depending on your age, your favourites will vary – although there are some characters that seem timeless.
Next time you’re going to a fancy dress party, consider going as a cartoon character. After all who wouldn’t want to give Winnie the Pooh a cuddle? It could be the start of a beautiful friendship. Perhaps you’ll finally meet your Piglet. Then again, you might just find yourself commiserating all evening with Eeyore.
At Fancy Dress Ball, we can supply your fancy dress costume whether you want to dress as Dennis the Menace, the Pink Panther, Sonic the Hedgehog, one of the Looney Tunes characters or a Disney favourite.
If the Warner Brothers cartoons are your favourite then we can have you dressed as Sylvester, Tweety Pie, the Tasmanian Devil or Bugs Bunny before you can say “What’s Up Doc?”
If Disney fancy dress is your thing, you may be into the classic characters or some of the more recent ones. Either way we can supply your fancy dress costume. You can even team up with a friend or loved one and go as a couple. There’s Mr and Mrs Incredible or Mickey and Minnie Mouse. One of you could go as Belle and one of you as the Beast from ‘Beauty and the Beast.’

Pink Panther fancy dress
A staggering elevan movies have been made including the release in 1963 of the first movie The Pink Panther. It was the success of the movie series which spawned the animated series with this much loved and huggable character you can see in this photo.
This is a great fancy dress costume which requires very liitle preparation and is really simple to wear. The whole outfit is a simple one piece jump suit – a bit like dressing up when you were a child! Then simply pull up the elasticated hood and hey presto – your in character fancy dress!
This cuddly panther, in the picture above, has chosen to add to the costume with some clever face make-up and some wonderful eye lash extensions. These costume accessories and others are all available from fancydressball.co.uk
Other cartoon fancy dress costumes like Bugs Bunny, Taz, Tweety and Slyvestar are also available. So if you and a few friends are off to an event why not have yourself a cartoon theme to your costumes – whatever you choose let fancydressball.co.uk help you have a ball and a night to remember!
